About Me

I began my teaching career in New Zealand, gaining my Bachelor of Education (ECE) at Teachers' College in Wellington. I taught at a beautiful day care for two years and then moved up to Auckland where my teaching continued for another five years. After marrying my husband, we packed up and moved to Melbourne, Australia for a new adventure. I worked in several Day Cares and Kinders as a relief teacher for a while and then settled in a private day care, working with the Kinder children.

After two years, I decided that I wanted to put my own beliefs and philosophy in to practice by running my own business, yet having the guidence and support from educational mentors. Family Day Care was the answer and I love it!

Throughout my career, I have held various positions from Head Teacher, Assistant Manager, Room Leader and Mentor for training teachers.

I hold my First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates and continually further my education by Professional Development. I believe that it is important to further my knowledge in this continually developing world.

I have been nominated for Educator of the Year in 2016 and again, just recently, in 2018 where I was awarded the title for my area.
